Deed, 1718 July 10, Philadelphia, to Jonathan Dickinson.

Acting for Penn, his three commissioners, Richard Hill, Isaac Norris, and James Logan, grant title to Jonathan Dickinson for 1048 acres of proprietary land along the Schuylkill River immediately north of Fairmont. Girard College is on this property, which included the whole of Francisville.

James Logan, colonial statesman and scholar, became William Penn's secretary and emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1699. Logan was later appointed Penn's financial agent in the colony and adviser for his descendants.
